Why are they free?

Because I enjoy designing Pathtags and would like to build a portfolio.

Are they truly free? YES!

I do ask that you consider allowing me to trade for 1 or 2 tags once you have them made, and of course if you decide just to donate a tag or two to me, that's fine too!

What is a Pathtag?

Pathtags are unique trading items used in Geocaching. The tags are about the size of a US Quarter or 1 Euro coin, and carry a specific design that you can choose. Pathtags can be produced in silver, gold, black nickel, or copper plating.

The rules:
  1. If you want a design, let me know. Do NOT just use the design without asking.
  2. If you want some customization, like adding your name or minor color changes, that's fine too.
  3. Please consider trading me a tag or two in exchange for the free design - donations of a tag or two as opposed to trades are fine too!
  4. When a design is 'claimed' - meaning that you have contacted me and I have customized or approved you to use the design, I'm going to assume that you'll enter production within 30 days. The tag will be moved to my 'claimed' album, and when you put it into production, I'll move it to the production album. If you cannot enter production within 30 days, let me know! If I don't hear from you, and it doesn't enter production, I will remove it from my claimed album and let someone else have it.


Do you do custom designs?

Absolutely! Most custom designs are $25. Send me a message and I'll see what I can do for you. Custom designs are NEVER given to anyone else, even if you never enter production. The rules above apply only to the free designs.

My name is Charlie Rhodes (aka tekkguy). I'm a geocacher, and a Pathtag Apprentice Designer. I am a member of GC4C and TXGA. I live in North Texas with my wonderful, patient wife, and have a 2-year old daughter.
